What is IoT?

IoT refers to the network of physical objects or "things" embedded with sensors, software, and other technologies that enable them to connect and exchange data. These devices can range from smartphones to smart home appliances, industrial machinery, and even wearable devices. The data collected from these devices can be analyzed to gain insights, improve processes, and create new services.

Hacking - A Bright Career in Cybersecurity

With the booming of Internet post 2000 and surge of Smart Mobile Devices, everyone today is connected to each other by some or the other type of app, websites and other platforms.

In the age of Internet, everyone is sharing his data at such a pace that the hackers all around the globe are continuously in search the modern age Gold i.e. DATA. It is the new mode of currency which is needed by every organization esp in Banking, Insurace, education, Sales & Marketing. It is even misused by the dark web personnels and hackers which work continuously to find the loop holes in the security, breach it and theft the personal data to misuse it by hacking your system to extort money, hacking the bank account to theft money and even for pornography. With UPI apps, the work even becomes easier now.

In order to save your precious data, one has to be cautious & attentive and take preventive actions to prohibit the misuse of the same. A few of the simple steps may be:
 - Don't give otp to unknowns whether personally or over phone.
 - Don't give your mobile for calling any unknown to someone for any reason.
 - Don't click on the link u get either in msg/social media app.
 - Keep your debit/credit limit of lower value and off the transactions which u don't do using app.

Career wise, there are very bright prospects in Hacking as well. After 12th/ Bachelor's degree, one can go for Bachelor's/ Master's in Cyber Security to become a professional hacker (the main tasks are to help government and people/victims). A few of the good Institutions offering degree are as follows:

Olympics in India: PM Modi ambitions for 2036 Olympic in India

Congratulations to Indian contingent, Support staff and all those associated directly or indirectly with Asiad contingent.

Finally, India starts to shine at international level in Sports as well. In the recently concluded Asiad held at Hongzhou, China; Indian Sports Minister, Mr. Anurag Thakur and 'Udan Pari' Ms. P.T. Usha, gave the Mantra "Apki Baar 100 paar" means this time it is expected to win 100 medals mark in Asiad. Indian Athletes clear that mark easily and won 107 medals. Before this, the best medal tally of Indian contingent was in 2018 when they won 70 medals. With the support and facilities provided by the Bharat Sarkar, the athletes got the exposure to perform at world level competitions and achieve the milestone of 100+ medals with 8 gold,38 silver and 41 bronze medals (a total of 107 medals), finished 4th in the medal tally behind China, Japan and South Korea. And after few days, PM Narendra Modi on Saturday (14 October 2023) confirmed India would bid for the 2036 Olympic Games in its attempt to bring the world's biggest sporting extravaganza to the country in the 141st session of IOC held in Jio Convention center at Mumbai, India.

India's first individual Olympic gold medallist Abhinav Bindra on Sunday (15 October 2023) expressed the hope with the interview with Economics times that India will get to host the Olympic Games in the near future, most probably in 2036. He was speaking on the sidelines of the International Olympic Committee's (IOC) 141st Session where, Bindra, the winner of the 2008 Beijing Olympics gold in 10 m air rifle, said, "I hope we get to host the Olympic Games in the near future."

But what will a country get from grabbing the hosting rights?

According to The Hindu Article "As India plans to bid for hosting the 2036 Olympic and paralympic games, cities across the country will need massive sports infrastructure. You engineering graduates should contribute to creation of the sports infrastructure,” said J. Kumar, Vice Chancellor. Madurai Kamaraj University, here on Sunday.

This, if India wins the bid for Olympics 2036, there is going to be a tremendous job and employment opportunity for millions of organized as well as unorganized section, whether in construction, transport, hospitality, tourism, computer & IT, sports, or in Medical, Physiotherapy and clinicals.

We just hope that India, world's largest democracy, oldest civilization and largest populated country will get the hosting rights for the first time in near future.

All the very best to Indian Government for putting the efforts to grab this opportunity.

Research Direction: How do one proceed

During starting stages, it is always confusing for a researcher to find a direction that will not only help in finding a good research papers but also minimizes the waste of time for finding and reading them. A good approach is given in this article using which even most of the researchers find it useful to save their plenty of time.

According to my approach, you can find it useful to look for research journals and repositories to find research papers relevant to your work. Out of these, IEEE and Elsevier (Mendeley) have a good collection of research papers.

Steps to find and read a research paper:
1. Searching research paper: Go to any of the links given below and type your keywords. Select the appropriate research paper based on these keywords and its title.
2. Find the relevant paper: Find If the title looks appropriate, then for literature review (background work) do the following:
  • Read the abstract first.
  • If you find it relevant, then read the conclusions.
  • After that, read its introduction and note down the key point [from this, you will get to know research done by others, the opportunity for find other relevant research papers whose links will be in reference section of that paper].
  • Then go to methodology (most of which may go out of your mind, still give it a look), results and discussion quickly.3. Note down: Write down the whole concept/work in one page (doc, not ppt), it will help you to write down your own document/ research paper).
4. Master Research: Now this paper acts as master to you [name it master research paper].
5. Make a Chain: Using references of that paper, based on the information of the introduction section (which you read earlier), you can further your research to make a chain of at least 20 relevant research papers.

Third Lunar Mission to Moon by India - CHANDRAYAAN 3

Congratulations to VSSC, SAC, and other ISRO teams who worked tirelessly towards this mission - Chandrayaan -3 mission - which scripted the history of Indian Space Science.

Launched from Satish Dhawan Space Station, Shriharikota at 1435 (IST) today (14 July 2023); it adds another jewel in the ISRO missions. Specifications of the project are:
  1. Powerful rocket—the Launch Vehicle Mark-III.
  2. Powered by - two S2000 solid rocket boosters
  3. The L110 liquid stage becomes functional once the solid boosters separate.
  4. After the separation of the liquid stage - CE25 cryogenic stage will power the vehicle.
  5. A Lunar lander - 'Vikram' and
  6. A Lunar rover - 'Pragyan'.
After the lessons learned from the previous missions, especially, Chandrayaan - 2 which had become unsuccessful in the very last hour when due to slight miscalculations, the rover crashed and connections were lost with that. Before that, ISRO carried out its maiden -
  • Lunar orbiting mission Chandrayaan-1 (2008), and
  • its maiden Mars orbiting mission (2013).

India might become the 4th country if the rover will successfully land on the south pole of the moon after a 42 days journey on the 23rd or 24th of August 2023. Before that only USA, Russia (erstwhile USSR) and China are the countries who did it earlier, with China being only able to successfully land on its first attempt.

Good Luck ISRO, for the mission and success.
